The Challenge
Ingram Content Group®, a global leader in publishing logistics, supports one of the world's largest book catalogs and fulfillment networks - but booksellers had no simple, Shopify-native way to tap into it. Shopify is the dominant e-commerce platform in North America, yet connecting that catalog and fulfillment to a store still meant slow, manual work.
Recognizing that gap, Emersoft independently designed and built a Shopify integration that made it possible for Ingram retailers to sell and fulfill online more efficiently.
Building on that solution, Emersoft engaged Ingram's data services, and the teams worked together to extend the app with multicurrency support - a key feature that simplified onboarding for international publishers and retailers.
This work reduced friction in global commerce by automating pricing, tax, and cross-border setup inside Shopify, while Emersoft maintained technical compatibility with Ingram's data services.
Our Approach
Emersoft identified early that integrating Ingram's catalog with Shopify could modernize how global bookstores sell online. Seeing that potential, Emersoft engaged Ingram®, and the teams collaborated to extend the platform with new multicurrency capabilities.
This feature allowed international retailers to onboard more efficiently by streamlining pricing, taxes, and payments across multiple regions.
We built and tested the integration to align with Ingram's data services and technical requirements.
